U.S. Empire and Vermont Independence - A Multi-Film DVD

This DVD features interviews and town meeting footage captured during autumn 2004. Short films include:

  1. A 7 minute August 2004 interview with former Duke University economics professor and international businessman Thomas Naylor on the need for secession.
  2. A 9 minute November 2004 montage of voices captured at the historic Middlebury Inn RADCON conference exploring Vermont independence in the context of U.S. empire.
  3. A 15 minute edited version of the November 2004 Middlebury "town meeting," featuring the voices of University of Vermont professor Frank Bryan, Emory University secession scholar Donald Livingston, and visits by "Ethan Allen" (actor James Hogue) and "Thomas Jefferson" (actor Gus Jacacci).

A portion of this DVD's sales will go to fund the creation of a more detailed documentary exploring the ideas presented in Thomas Naylor's 2004 book THE VERMONT MANIFESTO and Frank Bryan's 1989 book THE VERMONT PAPERS.

Burning Bush: Music For Regime Change! Six Song Sampler To Support Progressive Politics and Media Education/Democracy Work

Rob's six song acoustic sampler features the new song "Burning Bush," which pokes fun at Bushisms, critiques Bush administration policies, and compares the current president-select with Biblical heroes of yore. The CD includes five other Williams originals from three different CDs, from the humorous ("Bovine Revolution") to the funky ("Between the Raindrops") to the topical ("Kill Your Television").

As a life-long Christian Democratic progressive, I offer this "Burning Bush" sound byte to the world: "Mr. Bush's religious fundamentalism, leisured life of privilege, and relentless pursuit of policies that enrich the few at the expense of the many all run counter to both Biblical messages and democratic practices. Its time for Americans to demand that politicians and large multi-national corporations stop using Jesus as cover for shameless wealth and power grabs."

$2.00 from each Burning Bush CD sold will be donated to the Action Coalition for Media Education (ACME), an organization championing critical media literacy education, independent media production, and grassroots media reform.

Bottom Line Prophets

Recorded in New Mexico, Rob’s third CD collection of original acoustic tunes features a wide variety of the Southwest's finest musicians, including bassist David Parlato, wind virtuosos John Truitt and Linda Davidson, and the Green Chili Jam Band’s Maryann Torrez, as well as percussion and backing vocals by brother Christopher. The CD is an eclectic mix of styles, featuring a waltz ("Starting Over), a sexy cooking shuffle ("Breadbaking Blues"), an acappella public service announcement ("Hang Up and Drive") featured on NPR’s "Car Talk," the provocative title track, and the CD’s uplifting first cut ("Hopeful Song"). Find out why Williams was referred to as one of "the Southwest’s hidden musical gems" by the Albuquerque Journal"!

Remember The Day

Co-recorded with brother Christopher in Boston, Rob’s second CD features special guest artists Jennifer Kimball (formerly of The Story) and Rounder Records’ Ellis Paul. "Remember the Day" showcases tight harmonies and songwriting at once intimate and memorable. Pop-filled melodies infuse "Skipping Stones" and "Anyway," while "Curve Ball," "Little Brother," and "Grammy’s Song" explore the ambiguities buried within human relationships. Popular Boston radio program WERS’ "The Coffeehouse" program noted that "Remember the Day is not to be missed!"

Tell Me

Rob recorded this first CD in New Mexico on the heels of finalist appearances at the Telluride Bluegrass and Rocky Mountain Folk Festivals during summer 1993. Tasty musical harmonies and fine musicianship from a wide variety of musical guests enhance a number of the songs, including "Between The Raindrops," "All I Want," and the ever-popular "Bovine Revolution." VENUE magazine noted that "Williams’ folky numbers capture deep emotions so playfully that you just can’t resist," while MICLINE magazine explained that his first CD is "an album for all occasions – road trips, dinner parties, campfires and romantic evenings. Bravo!"
